Every fund defines its own ESG metrics, every portfolio company answers a different questionnaire, and none of the resulting data can be compared to anything. IPEB agrees a common metric set and publishes an annual anonymised benchmark, so a fund can see where its portfolio actually sits against its peers.
All data is aggregated and anonymised before use. No portfolio company and no member firm is identifiable in any published output.
No cut is published where the sample is fewer than five portfolio companies drawn from at least three distinct members.
A member may withdraw its data at any time. It is excluded from every subsequent edition.
Membership is by invitation of the Panel, proposed by any Contributing Member and confirmed by the Chair. Capital allocators contribute data and vote; limited partners and development finance institutions may join as Observers, who attend and receive all materials but contribute no data.
Tell us who you are and the Secretariat will arrange a conversation rather than send you more documents.
